Three funeral homes have pledged to allow unhindered access to clients who use hearing dogs, as charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People asks businesses to welcome assistance dogs.
A survey has revealed that 80 per cent of deaf people with hearing dogs have been denied access on the UK High Street, preventing them from carrying out everyday activities that other people take for granted.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, the charity that provides life-changing support to deaf people is now asking companies to confirm online that they open their doors and welcome registered assistance dogs accompanied by their disabled owners.
Funeral homes, H Bates, Cowley & Son Ltd and H C Grinstead Ltd have already promised to allow unrestricted access to hearing dogs and their owners.
