Westerleigh Group has revealed that its Vale Royal Crematorium has been praised for delivering an “excellent level of service provision” following a recent inspection by the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities (FBCA).
Inspector Michael Day said he “did not feel it necessary to make any recommendations” after visiting the Cheshire site in May, awarding it full marks in three of six assessed categories.
The FBCA, which supports its members in managing over 400,000 funerals annually, runs a compliance scheme that reviews more than 80 criteria across key areas of service delivery.
Day confirmed the crematorium was “operating in accordance” with all three main areas of compliance – statutory documentation, environmental guidance and service standards.
Georgia Hanson, manager at Vale Royal Crematorium, said: “It was particularly pleasing to receive full marks in the Service and Staff category, because people are at the heart of everything we do.
“In order to provide the exceptional care and support that we have built our reputation on, we need to have the right people in place at the crematorium, and I am proud of the professionalism and dedication of my team here, who are all so passionate about what they do.”
She added: “Clearly the inspector has seen that too, and his assessment is a welcome endorsement of the care and commitment shown every day by the team here.”
According to Hanson, the site’s voluntary membership of the FBCA reflected its commitment to transparency and high standards.
