J H Kenyon team members become pirates for charity

In support of the Pirate Castle Charity in Camden, J H Kenyon Funeral Service staff members swapped their charity t-shirts for pirate costumes, raising almost £900 in the process.

The Pirate Castle, which is based at Oval Road,Camden, offers a safe environment for children to enjoy the British canals through activities including canoeing and kayaking. The team, along with friends and family members, donned pirate attire and assembled at Tottenham Hale station before beginning a gruelling 12-mile walk to Camden Lock.

Armed with pirate flags and collection buckets they walked along the canal, arriving six hours later with their buckets weighed down with donations.

Funeral service arranger Sophie St George and funeral manager Tina Hill, both of whom completed the walk, said: “Due to the kindness and support of our sponsors we will be donating in the region of £900 to the charity, funding local children and enabling them to enjoy the facilities throughout the school holidays.”
