Patrick Ryan & Daughter Funeral Directors joins Funeral Partners
Funeral Partners said Patrick Ryan and Daughter approached the businesses to assess its values and ethos and whether it could support their ambitions to focus on serving families again
Patrick Ryan and Daughter Funeral Directors has joined Funeral Partners in a bid to receive the support and investment which the network offers in order to focus on serving local families.
Founder Patrick Ryan set up Patrick Ryan and Son with its own premises in Ealing in 1977, which would expand to a second funeral home in Greenford in 2005.
The business was rebranded with the new name Patrick Ryan and Daughter Funeral Director after Ryan’s daughter Lynn joined the business in the 80s.
Funeral Partners said that Patrick Ryan and Daughter approached the businesses to assess its values and ethos and whether it could support their ambitions to focus on serving families again.
After moving from Ireland and starting his own driving school in West London, Ryan decided to serve Irish Catholic families in the local communities.
Ryan had some industry experience with his cousins being in the funeral profession, so he began conducting funerals in the 1960s by borrowing facilities in local funeral homes. One of those funeral homes included John Nodes Funeral Service, which also went on to join the Funeral Partners family.
Lynn Ryan said: “Funeral Partners was the only one we considered as their values very much align with ours. Our family name is still above the door and we conduct funerals in the same personable way that we have since the 1960s, only now with more time to spend with the families we serve.”
