Mears Family Funerals appoints new managing director

Family-owned funeral directors Mears Family Funerals, has announced the promotion of Lisa McDermott to managing director.

McDermott said: “I am overjoyed at my promotion and extremely proud to lead the team at Mears Family Funerals. Having been closely involved in our rapid growth over the last couple of years, I am looking forward to shaping and delivering the next stage of the company’s development.”

Steven Mears, group CEO, added: “Lisa has been with me for over 15 years and has hands-on experience in all aspects of the business. Most recently she has played a key role in establishing our high street presence and developing the high quality funeral services that we are renowned for. Her promotion to managing director is testament to her ability and it truly well deserved.”

Mears Family Funerals now has branches in Biggin Hill, Bromley, Catford, Eltham, Lewisham and Ladywell and West Wickham.
