Funeral Director Chris Walker completed a 135 mile bike ride last month to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Walker, of C M Walker in Felling Gateshead Tyne and Wear, completed the coast to coast challenge in just 13.5 riding hours. He began by dipping his bicycle’s back wheel in the North Atlantic Ocean before cycling across the country dip his front wheel in the North Sea.

98 percent of Macmillan Cancer Support’s funding comes from donations from the public. Two of Walker’s family members and a friend have received support from Macmillan. Many families he has met in the course of his work have also been aided by the charity. He explained ‘this is my way of helping. If anyone in the profession would like to donate they can go to my Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/cmwalkersc2c’.
