Flexmort wins prestigious innovation awardMidlands-based mortuary solutions manufacturer Flexmort has been award the ‘Big Idea’ prize from the University of Warwick for its innovative mortuary cooling systems and products.

Flexmort’s approach to the concept of body storage allows the deceased to be cooled with dignity without the need for large, heavy traditional mortuary refrigerators. Its best-selling CoverCool range simplifies the cooling of bodies and allows the deceased to be kept cool in a coffin or on a trolley.

Nick Armstrong of Armstrong’s Funerals said: “Our CoverCool system is in constant use and we are absolutely delighted with it. The cooling blankets are excellent and we are so pleased with the results.”

Managing director of Flexmort Simon Rothwell commented: “We were pleasantly surprised to win the award from the University of Warwick, it was a great honour, and we will continue developing our range of products and accessories to add to our growing list of solutions.

“Our customers include hospitals, funeral directors, hospices and numerous charities. We also hold NHS contracts and over 60 per cent of hospitals utilise our equipment. We strongly believe in excellent customer care and have worked closely with many of our customers in order to develop products to fit their specific needs. We also supply to international customers via our distributor network or direct.”
