London-based funeral directors Leverton and Sons has announced that its operations manager, Allan Clinton, has retired from the role after 43 years.

Clinton joined the family-run firm in 1981 and went on to hold several positions, including funeral assistant, funeral director and head office manager, before taking on his most recent role.

Leverton and Sons said his contribution had been “significant” to the company’s continued success and to the wider funeral profession over the past five decades.

A spokesperson for the firm said: “Allan has worked tirelessly, giving his all for the good of the company, our clients and the community.

“We thank him for everything he has done and wish him a well-deserved retirement.”

Founded in 1789, Leverton and Sons is one of London’s oldest funeral directors and remains a family business, now managed by the seventh generation of the Leverton family. The firm, based in Camden, has arranged funerals for generations of local families and has also served the Royal Household for more than two decades.
