The National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) in Northern Ireland has announced the appointment of Emma Moore, area development manager at Funeral Partners, to the role of president.
Moore, who joined the association three years ago as vice chairperson, takes over the presidency from Stephen Larkin, who has been credited with steering NAFD through a period of key developments.
She began her career in the funeral industry in 2010 as an arranger with Mulhollands Funeral Directors in Carrickfergus, after being inspired by the service provided to her family following the death of her grandfather. Mulhollands is now one of the branches she oversees in her current role.
In March, Moore was promoted to area development manager alongside colleague Kylie Gourley. Both now oversee a significant number of funeral homes across Northern Ireland. Moore’s responsibilities include maintaining standards of care, supporting funeral managers and strengthening ties with the communities they serve.
Her appointment as NAFD president marks a continuation of the association’s focus on industry standards, community leadership and professional growth.
