The London Association of Funeral Directors (LAFD) has officially elected Karen Rattigan as the new chair of its southern district.

Rattigan, who is also an area development manager at Funeral Partners, has been an active LAFD member for the past three years.

According to the association, her appointment reflects the committee’s trust in her experience and leadership.

Rattigan succeeds Steve Bayley, whose “dedicated” leadership laid strong foundations for her work ahead, according to the LAFD.

Along with Rattigan’s appointment, Sarah Bartlett has joined as vice chair, who brings “valuable insight and continuity to the team” as they continue to support members and uphold professional standards across the sector.

A spokesperson for Funeral Partners said: “This marks an important milestone in Karen’s continued dedication to the funeral profession, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact of her leadership in the year ahead.”
