A Shrewsbury funeral directors has appointed a Welsh speaking aide so that it can offer families the best possible experience in their own language (if they are Welsh).

Aubrey Kirkham Funeral Directors hired David Evans as a full time funeral director aide not only to manage the firm’s funeral vehicles but so that he can use his mother tongue to support the bereaved through the planning process.

Aubrey Kirkham explained that Evans will be able to help fellow Welsh-speakers through the often daunting task of planning a funeral, a service they could not offer till now.

As the firm is just nine miles from the Welsh border, the appointment shows a dedication from the funeral directors as they expand to cater for potential clients from Wales.
