Austin’s Funeral Directors has launched a series of six leaflets to help people deal with the loss of a loved one, which are available for free in any of its branches.

The leaflets cover a range of subjects from ‘Grief after suicide’ to ‘Navigating grief after an unexpected loss’. They are designed to help family and friends cope with a death by offering practical ideas and support in dealing with the loss and grief.

Managing director Claire Austin, who is the tenth generation of her family to run the 313-year-old firm, said: “Death is a taboo subject in our society, and so when, inevitably, people are confronted by it they often find it very difficult to cope. We hope that by making these leaflets available to everybody we can help to ease the grief and pain that so often accompanies the death of a loved one.”

The leaflets are available in all of Austin’s eight branches, which are spread throughout north and east Hertfordshire.
