Denise Walters, a funeral arranger at F Coope & Sons in Shirebrook, has achieved her BTEC Advanced Diploma level 3 in Funeral Arranging and Administration.

Before joining F Coope & Sons as a trainee funeral arranger in May 2010, Denise worked as an international operator for a telecommunications company.

Denise was inspired to join the profession following the help she received in organising the funeral of a close friend: “My very dear friend died and the young lady who helped me to make the funeral arrangements made the whole thing less painful and bewildering; so much so that I wanted to make that difference for someone else.

“I love my job so much. Being able to make a difference for people at possibly the most difficult and sad time of their lives is tremendously important to me, and I’m so pleased with my qualification.”
