Oak Hill Lawn Cemetery and Crematorium in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, has been recognised for its bereavement services with gold and silver awards from the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management (ICCM).

The site, run by Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, received a gold standard in the ICCM’s bereaved assessment process for cremation and a silver standard in the process for burial.

The awards follow a self-assessment process verified by the ICCM, which measures performance against more than 500 operational and service criteria.

The cemetery and its memorial gardens have also received a Green Flag award from environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, which recognises well‑managed parks and green spaces.

Cllr Jane Quinton, the council’s deputy leader and executive member for leisure and community, said: “The delivery of efficient and quality services is a priority for the council. These awards are testament to the high standards the Oak Hill team uphold and to their continued commitment to providing respectful, high-quality service for mourners at their time of need.

“I would like to thank the team at Oak Hill for their hard work and congratulate them on achieving these prestigious awards.”
