Everest Funeral Concierge has extended its end-of-life planning and funeral support services to cover parents and in-laws of employees insured under MetLife UK’s Group Life policies.
The move follows an expansion of Everest’s partnership with MetLife UK, which had previously made the services available to employees, their spouses, partners and dependants. The newly eligible family members will now have access to independent advice and logistical support in planning and arranging funerals.
Everest’s offering includes personalised support from specialist advisers, along with a suite of digital tools such as will-writing, power of attorney drafting, and secure online document storage. The service aims to help families make informed decisions and reduce administrative and emotional burdens during bereavement.
Mark Wood, executive chairman at Everest, said: “Our collaboration with MetLife has delivered valuable support at their time of grief to employees of MetLife’s Group Life clients. The extent to which our services are valued is reflected in MetLife’s new business and renewal performance. Today we announce the extension of our services to encompass employees’ parents and parents-in-law.”
Charlotte O’Brien, head of employee benefits at MetLife UK, added: “Protection is not just about financial wellbeing. Continuous innovation is vital to help people feel looked after and supported. That’s never truer than when suffering a bereavement, and in extending our Group Life and Legacy proposition to the parents and in-laws of the insured employee, we aim to provide more family members peace of mind.”
The partnership aims to strengthen MetLife’s position in the group life insurance market while supporting the growing needs of multigenerational families across the UK.
