Funeral plan provider, Avalon has announced it has appointed Susan Stevenson as its new CEO.

Stevenson joins the business with 25 years’ experience in consumer financial services, working globally for American Express and insurance group Cigna.

Speaking about her appointment, Stevenson, said: “I am joining Avalon at a time of great growth and diversification, both in the UK and overseas in European markets. There’s a huge opportunity to meet the changing consumer requirements for pre-need funeral plans with new products, as well as expanding our network of funeral directors and supporting them to secure future business.

“We are delivering a product that really helps, leaving loved ones with wonderful memories rather than financial worries. We are meeting a consumer need that everyone has, even if they don’t realise it. The key to unlock further growth will be to help people understand the benefits of planning for the future now.”

The latest news from Avalon comes following the launch of Avalon Promise in January this year, which means if customers pass away before their plan is fully paid, Avalon will cover the cost of the services included in their funeral plan.
