Westerleigh Group is inviting families to visit its crematoria and cemeteries around Father’s Day (Sunday 15 June) to take time to remember and reflect on relatives they have lost.
The bereaved will also have the option to leave messages and Father’s Day cards in the white memorial post boxes available at each of Westerleigh’s Gardens of Remembrance.
While crematoria will have their own Father’s Day arrangements, all locations will provide memorial post boxes for messages and offer visitors the chance for quiet reflection on-site.
Other offerings at crematoria will include memorial services and offering visitors the opportunity to write personalised messages and tributes on memory tags, or to light a commemorative candle or decorate a pebble, which can be placed on a loved one’s memorial within the crematoria grounds.
Many sites are also offering families the chance to collect a flower to lay at a memorial or take home.
Debbie Smith, chief executive of Westerleigh Group, said: “Our Father’s Day invitation is open to anyone, whether or not there is a memorial to their father or father figure at any of our crematoria, or where their funeral took place.
“Neither does it matter if someone is recently bereaved, or suffered a loss some time ago, and it makes no difference where they live.”
She added: “Father’s Day is one of those annual occasions when a loss can be felt more deeply and we want to ensure people know that they are very welcome to take comfort in paying tribute to their loved ones at our crematoria.”
Coinciding with Father’s Day, a special offer is available until Sunday 6 July 2025 which enables families who purchase a 50-year-lease on a living memorial to receive a complimentary bronze or granite name marker.
This tribute can be dedicated to a father or father figure, as well as to any other loved one people may wish to honour.
