The Scottish Funeral Awards, which took place on 30 October at the Glasgow Marriott Hotel, has named Scotland’s ‘Best Funeral Tea Venue’ to be Kilmardinny House.

The venue is an A-listed Georgian mansion situated on Kilmardinny Avenue in Bearsden, which is owned by East Dunbartonshire Council and operated by East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture (EDLC) Trust.

Kilmardinny House also has two storeys, with views of Kilmardinny Loch and mature landscaped gardens. The venue’s catering is reportedly also provided by Elior UK.

It is reported that the Scottish Funeral Awards were created to recognise businesses who go the extra mile to ensure their customers are offered a fair and exceptional service during a difficult time.

Eilidh Young, sales and operations manager for Elior UK at Kilmardinny House, said: “It is a privilege to provide the hospitality services for funerals at Kilmardinny House. A funeral reception is such a significant occasion so it is critical that we deliver a service that is just right for the family.

“We manage around two to three funeral receptions each week and work closely with our chefs to ensure that each event is individual and exactly the type of event that those hosting the funeral want to honour their loved ones.”
