Cole Funeral Directors has been nominated in three separate categories as part of the Business Growth Awards.

The funeral director is shortlisted for awards in Community Support, Innovation and Customer Service.

The firm cites its “innovative approach” with the Death Positive movement, as well as “conversations” around death across different age groups with Cole’s education programme, Bereavement Hub and funeral planning capabilities.

Francesca Coles, head of communications for Cole, said: “It’s been a difficult year for businesses and individuals, so we’re honoured to be recognised for the work that we have been doing to support our community throughout the pandemic.

“For those dealing with bereavement, we’re with them every step of the way and no detail is too small – from the initial visit to the service itself, and follow-up support should they need it.”

She added: “Over the last 12 months, we’ve seen this support evolve to meet the needs of our customers. As an independent, family-run business, we’ve been able to respond quickly, and we can only thank our team for how quickly they have adapted with true empathy at the core.

“We couldn’t do this without them. Their commitment and attention to detail are what makes us stand out, and it’s why our community continues to trust us at such an important point in their lives.”

The award ceremony is set to take place later this year.
