Funeral directors’ charity auction raises £2,800

John Taylor Funeral Services presided over more than 70 lots at its annual auction in aid of Leamington Spa’s Myton Hospice.

‘Lots’ of goods, services and excursions were up for grabs at the event, such as a holiday to Portugal, days out to local attractions and an electric guitar and amp.

When all was said and done the day proved to be a tremendous success, raising more than £2,800 for the hospice.

Principal funeral director Rob Ripley was the auctioneer for the seventh year running. “I am very pleased with how the auction went, and once again a great amount of money was raised for the hospice,” he remarked.

Manager of John Taylor, Colin Millington, added: “It was a great team effort, particularly for a Sunday. All [of the] visitors seemed to enjoy themselves and my appreciation goes to everyone concerned for helping to make the day such a success.”
