Wilcox Limousines has delivered a hearse to Kenya for the funeral of respected politician Major-General Joseph Nkaissery, the African country’s former Interior Cabinet Secretary.

Wilcox Limousines has flown one of its Jaguar XJ hearses to Lee Funeral Home, a Nairobi based funeral director, tasked with overseeing the funeral of General Nkaissery, a senior member of the Maasai community who died unexpectedly last month.

The funeral home ordered the new hearse from Wilcox in advance of its requirement for General Nkaissery’s funeral, but it arrived in the country just in time to be used for the prominent event which was widely featured in the Kenyan media, with much of the coverage commenting on the high-quality hearse.

Paul Wilcox, CEO at Wilcox Limousines said: “We operate in many international markets so we’re well equipped to handle the difficulties of moving hearses and limousines to all sorts of places, all around the world. Flying our latest hearse to Kenya was one of our more unusual exports, but the entire process went smoothly and it’s both hugely rewarding and a real honour to see it being featured so prominently in Kenyan news bulletins.  General Nkaissery was a well-respected figure in Kenya and we extend our sympathies to the country as it mourns his passing.”

He continued: “Our vehicles are used at state funerals throughout the world, including here in the UK. We’re very proud that the quality of the Wilcox brand is so well regarded and trusted enough to deliver on the highest state occasions.”
