Romsey funeral director receives £900,000 funding

Family-run funeral directors, A.H. Cheater Ltd, is to open new premises after receiving a funding package worth over £900,000 from NatWest.

The Romsey-based business is using the investment to purchase and refurbish a second office in the neighbouring village of North Baddesley.

A.H. Cheater Ltd. Funeral Directors has been serving the community for over 100 years and is proud to be the only family-owned funeral directors in Romsey.

Managing director, Michael Peace, became his family’s third generation of funeral directors after joining his father Simon in the business in 2003.

Michael said of the funding: “We strive to deliver a high-quality personal service that is respectful of the very challenging and sometimes tragic circumstances that our customers experience.

“The expansion of the business will allow us to improve upon and deliver this service to a greater number of the local community.

“I have been struck by NatWest’s proactive approach since I started working with them in 2016. Having received the funding so quickly and easily, we have been able to accelerate our development plans and expand our business.”

Christopher Ray, NatWest Relationship Manager, said: “A.H. Cheater is a well-established business that offers a high quality, modern service with community at its heart.

“It has been rewarding to support the business, and we are confident that new premises will allow Michael to continue to provide the highest standard of funeral care for many years to come.”
