A family-run funeral directors, Devall and Son, has expanded into Coventry.
The company has provided support for families in Nuneaton since 1986. Its new funeral home is located in the Radford area of the city. The Jubilee Crescent-based building has undergone extensive renovation work.
Daniel Devall, director at Devall and Son, spearheaded the move into the city and said it was a natural progression for the company.
“We have now been operating in Nuneaton for 31 years, so it felt like the right time to be moving into Coventry,” said the former Blue Coat CofE School pupil.
“We have looked after a number of families and funerals in the city from our Nuneaton site over the years, so this seemed like a natural stepping stone.
“Along with the work that we do in Coventry, we have had a long affiliation with the city including me going to school in the area, so it is known well by the family.
“The premises we took over were previously a funeral directors, but the building had been vacant for a number of months before we moved in.
“This meant that a number of renovations works had to be carried out before we could officially open.
“The whole building has been completely revamped and we have included two family rooms and two chapels of rest to offer professional support and guidance.
“Devall and Son prides itself on offering a bespoke service that is caring and supportive. We are pleased to be bring this to the people of Coventry.”
The Lord Mayor of Coventry, Councillor Lindsley Harvard, officially opened the new business by unveiling a plaque within the reception area.
Councillor Harvard said: “It is always a cause for celebration when a business opens new premises in the city, particularly a local business that wishes to expand.
“I would like to welcome them to Coventry and wish them success in the provision of funeral services to our residents and their families.”
