On World Kidney Day, 9 March, the charity Kidney Wales will be featured on Nation Radio to publicise its fundraising initiative, ‘Bring a Pound to Work Day’.

The charity is asking local businesses, schools, colleges and groups to all round up their work colleagues, friends and family and each take in £1 in to work on 9 March.

Kidney disease affects over 10,000 people in Wales and is increasing, particularly in young children. The illness dramatically changes the life of the patient and their families.

£1,436 can help fund a research assistant into the best ways to diagnose and treat kidney disease and patient wellbeing. While £10,000 can go a long way to helping fund lifesaving equipment for units across Wales.

Companies that would like to donate but can’t take part in the Bring a Pound to Work Day can text KWKW00 £1 (or an amount of their choice) and send to 70070 or donate via Just giving at https://www.justgiving.com/campaigns/charity/kwf/wkd2017
