Charity car wash raises £650 for community defibrillator

Staff at Woodfield Park Funeral Directors in the Welsh Valleys presented a cheque for £651 for Jack’s Appeal and purchased a community defibrillator.

Jack’s Appeal raises money for defibrillators to be installed in schools throughout Wales and was started by Jack’s mother June after Jack died suddenly, aged 15, of an undiagnosed heart condition.

June was presented the cheque for £651 by staff at Dignity owned Woodfield Park, the money was raised by a car wash the branch held in September.

The branch has also purchased a new defibrillator which is available for anyone living nearby to use.

David Stevenson, business manager, The Valleys “Our services and our memorial gardens are attended by a lot of people and after I spoke to Jack’s mother I realised how important it was for us to have a defibrillator. It will be kept on the outside of our building, so anyone in the area who needs it can use it.”
