Irish embalmer and funeral director David McGowan has transported a Boeing 747 from Shannon Airport to Enniscrone, Co Sligo. The 70 tonne plane was moved via barge along Ireland’s Atlantic coast after logistical issues ruled out road travel.

The Boeing 747, which was originally owned by Russian airline Transaero, will become part of Mr McGowan’s new business venture, Quirky Nights Glamping Village. The plane will be converted into accommodation for holiday makers. Buses, train carriages, boats and London taxis will also appear on the site.
