Only all-girl football club boosted by Gravesham funeral homeThe only Gravesham-based all-girl football club has benefitted from Co-operative Funeralcare’s sponsorship.

The Gravesham Girls and Ladies Football Club under 16s team, who play in the Kent Girls and Ladies league, has been sponsored by the local funeral home – on Milton Road – ensuring the girls got to compete in their eighth season in a new yellow and black kit.

Janet Thorndycraft, manager of the Co-operative Funeralcare, said: “As a business at the heart of the community, we wanted to give something back to the local community and this was an ideal opportunity.

Club manager, Chris Toon, who was also provided with a new training top by the funeral home, said: “We are extremely grateful to the Co-operative Funeralcare for the sponsorship of the squad’s new strip.

“The girls hope the new kit will bring them luck for the 2012/2013 season.”
