A.Wass Funeral Directors in Sutton-in-Ashfield has donated £2,000 to Sherwood Forest Hospital amid the Covid-19 crisis.

The donation will be used to support the trust’s Covid-19 response and will support Sherwood Forest Hospitals’ colleagues and patients where needed, as part of its longer term approach to the incident.

Richard Mitchell, CEO of the trust thanked the funeral directors for its “extremely generous” donation.

He said: “I am extremely proud of all NHS colleagues and key workers who are working so hard to care for our patients and members of the local community during these difficult times, and this donation will be a source of assistance and comfort to many colleagues over the next few months.”

Paul Brown from A.Wass Funeral Directors said: “Our NHS is doing an amazing thing for the people with this virus, and this is the least we can do for them.

“Unfortunately we are now seeing a number of cases that are losing the battle through Covid-19, which is devastating for families losing loved ones. Let’s all pull together and follow guidelines so people can try and return to normal life as soon as we can and get back to normality at the earliest opportunity, so please stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.”
