Funeral Partners fund benefits two Sunderland community projects

Funeral Partners’ John G Hogg Community Fund has donated a total of £1,700 in its final round to two local organisations towards providing emergency supplies for women and outdoor learning opportunities for children.
Sunderland Soroptimist International received £600 to provide comfort packs for women fleeing domestic violence. The packs contain essential toiletries and sanitary products.

Meanwhile, Friends of Derwent Hill was awarded £1,100 to fund outdoor education for children from families facing financial difficulties.
The fund, managed by John G Hogg, supports activities within a three-mile radius of its funeral homes in Farringdon, Hendon and Pallion. To qualify, projects must focus on health, education, employment or the relief of poverty and social deprivation.
Previous recipients in this funding cycle include the Pallion Action Group, which received £1,500 for its cookery programme. The Good Shepherd Church was also awarded £1,655 to support its Connect Project, which assists vulnerable residents on the Ford housing estate.
Business principal, John Hogg, said: “We would like to thank everyone for their applications for community funding, and we have thoroughly enjoyed helping local charities.
“It’s an honour to support such incredible causes – one helping women in Sunderland feel cared for and supported when they need it most, and the other ensuring outdoor education is accessible to every child living in the community, regardless of circumstances.”
