Westerleigh Group’s Mercia Forest Crematorium has made a £1k donation to Compton Care, a Wolverhampton-based charity that provides palliative and bereavement support.
The charity commented that the money would support its services for people living with life-limiting conditions and their families across the local area.

The donation was made through the crematorium’s metal recycling scheme. With the consent of families, metals recovered during cremations are recycled, with the proceeds distributed to charities and community organisations linked to the areas the crematorium serves.
Graham Hall, manager at Mercia Forest Crematorium, said: “We chose Compton Care because of all the great work they do. The charity has been helping patients and their families navigate every aspect of coping with a life-limiting condition for more than 40 years.”
Rachel Hailey, from Compton Care, added: “Their support helps us to continue providing vital, expert care and support to local people living with life-limiting conditions, and to their families.”
