Best Solicitors raises £1,195 for hospice with will writing offer
The campaign also highlighted the issue of future planning, with more than half of UK adults currently without a will

A will-writing fundraiser launched by Best Solicitors has raised almost £1,200 for Ashgate Hospice in Chesterfield.
The Sheffield-based law firm partnered with the charity for its June ‘Will Month’ campaign, offering will-writing services without charging a standard fee. Clients were instead invited to make a suggested £75 donation to the hospice, which provides end-of-life care across North Derbyshire.
The campaign also highlighted the issue of future planning, with more than half of UK adults currently without a will. The firm offered home visits, phone and video appointments to make the process more accessible for elderly clients and those with mobility issues.
The initiative generated £1,195 in two weeks, with all proceeds going to the charity’s patient and family services.
Ellie, from Best Solicitors’ wills and probate team, said: “We wanted this campaign to be about more than paperwork. It’s about empowering people to take control of their future, while also giving them a way to contribute to something bigger than themselves.”
The fundraiser coincided with the opening of Best Solicitors’ new Chesterfield office at the Northern Gateway Enterprise Centre. The firm said the partnership with Ashgate Hospice reflected its aim of strengthening local ties while supporting community causes.
