Goals 4 GOSH to hold charity football match in Wimbledon

On this occasion, Chelsea hero and Real Madrid Galactico Eden Hazard will be making his Goals 4 GOSH debut

Goals 4 GOSH, the charity which has been spearheaded by Funeral Partners’ regional development director, Jamie Groves, is heading to The Cherry Red Records Stadium, the home of AFC Wimbledon, on Sunday 25 May for a fundraiser

The match, which will be the fifth held with all proceeds going to Great Ormond Street Hospital’s children’s charity, comes after Goals for GOSH has managed to raise more than £160k.

On this occasion, Chelsea hero and Real Madrid Galactico Eden Hazard will be making his Goals 4 GOSH debut, playing alongside other football stars like Troy Deeney, Joe Cole, Lianne Sanderson and Wimbledon legend Jason Euell.

Celebrities from TV, entertainment and music will also grace the pitch at the ground in Plough Lane including rapper and actor Santan Dave, Bionic from BBC’s Gladiators and YouTuber Danny Aarons.

Grove’s friend Charlotte Styles is the co-organiser of the event, and were both honoured in GOSH charity’s Together for Childhood awards last year.

Grove said: “When we came up with this idea in 2021, we had no idea how big it would become. But we have raised an incredible amount of money for such a super cause, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we have achieved.

“We’re extremely grateful to Funeral Partners for their continued support as our principal sponsor for the fifth consecutive year. I personally appreciate all the support, funding and the flexibility they’ve given me to organise these events.”

He added: “We are excited to be coming to Wimbledon for the first time, the line-up this year is absolutely brilliant, and I can’t wait for kick-off.”

The day begins with a social media influencer and local business tournament starting at 10.30am, with the main game kicking off at 4pm.
