Westerleigh Group’s Babworth Crematorium has earned an overall grade of outstanding following an inspection by the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities (FBCA) in February.

During his visit, crematorium inspector Stuart Connelly raised no actions or recommendations for the facility.

The FBCA represents burial and cremation authorities across the UK, and its compliance scheme assesses eight areas of service delivery. Connelly awarded the crematorium 100% in both ceremony facilities and service and staff.

Ben Schofield, manager of Babworth Crematorium, said: “It was particularly pleasing to receive such positive comments from the inspector about both our facilities and the team. We put families at the heart of everything we do, and in order to provide them with the exceptional care and support we have built our reputation on, we need to have the right people in the crematorium team.

“We are committed to upholding the highest standards for the families we serve, working closely with industry partners and regulators. Through collaboration with the FBCA, we ensure quality, compliance and compassionate care, delivering exceptional support and peace of mind to every family we serve.”

Connelly added: “I was extremely impressed with the facilities and service provided. The team, led by Ben, clearly have the bereaved at the heart of all they do. An excellent team who should be proud of the service provided.”
