Gordon Barber Funeral Directors has issued a “special commemorative” award to Carole Durrant for her 25-year service to the industry.

During her tenure, she has been involved with 4,500 funerals in a career that began in the mid-90’s.

She said: “It’s very rewarding when a family tells me that I’ve helped them or provided comfort. I am so privileged to have a job I love, where every day I try to give the best version of myself to families.”

“I joined Gordon Barber as a funeral service arranger at their premises in Thorpe St Andrew and for the past 19 years have been a funeral director caring for families in the Norwich area.”

She added: “Everyone knows I am the eternal optimist and leave no stone unturned. If there is a way to achieve something, I will indeed find a way. As a funeral director it’s certainly a good trait to have as we will always try to find a solution for my clients if they have any special requirements.”
