Oxford Crematorium has unveiled the result of the significant refurbishment of its chapel thanks to a £50,000 investment.

The investment came from owners The Crematorium and Memorial Group (CMG) and helped in renovating the chapel’s furniture, curtains, carpets and flooring.

Furthermore, the investment also went to improving the technology used for record or web-cast funerals for mourners that have been unable to attend a funeral.

On top of this, ahead of the easing of social distancing restrictions for mourners, the crematorium has installed additional visual tribute screens in the main chapel that can show family photographs or home movies during the funeral.

Trish Smith, the manager at Oxford Crematorium, said: “We provide an important service to the local community and this project has significantly improved our facilities.

“The refurbished chapel means that local families will have the modern facilities and comforts they want when they say a last farewell to their loved ones.”
