Westerleigh Group has announced that Forest Park Cemetery and Crematorium will close for renovations on 20 June to install new technology that allows for customised visual and audio funeral services.

The chapel will remain closed until 7 July while the upgrades are installed. Once reopened, the site will join a network of venues offering these services.

Inside the chapel, technology will project themes onto the front wall, accompanied by coordinated lighting and soundscapes. These options include seasonal backgrounds, landscapes or imagery of sports stadiums.

Darren Dowd, manager of Forest Park Cemetery and Crematorium, said: “We are proud to be introducing the opportunity to personalise funerals to unprecedented levels to our bereaved communities.

“The feedback received from our SuperVenues already operating in other parts of the country has been extremely positive, and I look forward to supporting the bereaved near and further afield to have the chance to create the most memorable tributes to their loved ones, here at Forest Park.”
