FuneralExperts has announced a partnership with The Estate Registry to provide bereaved families with digital notification tools and access to inheritance funds before probate.

The collaboration allows users to access the NotifyNOW and InheritNOW platforms.

NotifyNOW enables families to inform more than 2,000 financial institutions and service providers of a death through a single process.

Meanwhile, InheritNOW provides families with funds to cover immediate funeral costs and living expenses while an estate is being finalised. The service is designed to reduce financial hardship during the period before legal access to assets is granted.

The independent and impartial funeral comparison service operates alongside NHS Trusts, local authorities, and hospices. Its advisers provide guidance on funeral planning and welfare benefits.

According to an evaluation by Anglia Ruskin University, FuneralExperts’ service saves families an average of £900.

The organisation also holds the highest rating from the NHS Innovation Service for its work within the healthcare system. This partnership formalises the link between practical bereavement advice and financial technology.

Joanne Regan, director of operations at FuneralExperts, said: “Too many families face unnecessary distress after a death – struggling to understand what to do next, who to contact, and how to cope financially. This partnership allows us to remove barriers at exactly the moment people need help the most.

“By combining our frontline support with the power of NotifyNOW and InheritNOW, we can ensure families are not left chasing organisations or worrying about money while they grieve. It’s about dignity, compassion and making sure no one is left to navigate this process alone.”

Phil Hickson, senior VP of partnerships at The Estate Registry, added: “Through NotifyNOW and InheritNOW, we are ensuring families can deal with practical and financial matters simply, securely and with dignity – without being overwhelmed by forms, phone calls or uncertainty.

“By working in partnership with organisations like FuneralExperts, we are helping to build a more compassionate, joined-up system of support – one that recognises the emotional reality of bereavement while providing clear, practical solutions when families need them most.”
