Westerleigh Group’s New Southgate Cemetery, Crematorium and Memorial Gardens will be hosting an informal talk to encourage families to discuss funeral wishes with their loved ones.
The event will take place at South Mimms Village Hall on 17 March between 11am and 1pm, supported by Chas A Nethercott and Son.
Community engagement lead Matthew Brook alongside funeral director Victoria Nethercott will be at the event to answer questions regarding bereavement support and funeral options in an informal setting.
According to organisers, the free session aims to allow the public to better understand the processes individuals and families face when dealing with a death.
No booking is required for the event, which includes light refreshments and limited free parking at the venue.
David Stevenson, crematorium manager, said: “It’s something no one really wants to talk about, but it is so important that these conversations do take place, as they help make everything easier when the time comes.
“Whether you’re currently supporting someone through their grief, have a loved one who’s nearing the end of their life, or are thinking about what you might want for your own funeral, this event is designed to give you everything you need in order to make informed choices, whatever your situation.”
He added: “This is a chance to speak frankly and openly, but in an informal setting, with professional experts who have the knowledge and experience to answer all your questions.”
