Online fundraising platform JustGiving has launched a new hub for funeral directors.

Funeral donations through JustGiving will allow funeral directors to bring their clients’ donations online, simplifying funeral giving by maximising Gift Aid benefits and reducing the burden of administration.

In-memory giving is booming, with recent research revealing that giving money to charity has overtaken spending on flowers as a mark of respect at funerals.

Each year more than £91 million is still given in donations at funerals through offline cash collections, leading to an estimated £25 million lost for charities as a result of unclaimed Gift Aid.

Funeral Donations by JustGiving is supported by the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), which recently launched a new campaign to encourage Funeral Directors to take donations online and claim Gift Aid for charities.
