Funeral Arranger awarded for life-saving actions

Funeral arranger Howard Provis has been awarded by the Welsh Ambulance Service (WAS) after his actions saved a man’s life.
Howard, who works for A G Adams & Son Funeral Directors in Barry, was presented with a highly commended award at the recent WAS Awards 2012.
A volunteer Community First Responder with the WAS, Howard responded to a call from a colleague in the ambulance service requesting he attend to a 44-year-old man who lived in the next street who had gone into cardiac arrest.
Howard arrived at the scene and commenced CPR until a paramedic arrived to assist him. The man was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, where he made a full recovery.
“I feel really humbled to have received this award,” remarked Howard. “I was just doing what anyone in my position would have done.”
