Funeral staff member faces her fear

A funeral staff member has faced her biggest fear by jumping out of a plane for charity.

Amy Gatley, 27, from Hadfield took part in a skydive leaping out a plane at 15,000 feet over Hibaldstow sky diving club near Lincoln to raise over £800 for Willow Wood Hospice in Ashton-under-Lyne.

The driver and bearer for Glossop Carriage Company Ltd on Howard Street, Glossop, raised £881.00 for the hospice which cares for people in Tameside and Glossop with life threatening illnesses.

Amy said: “I had no doubt that this would be truly be the scariest thing I will have ever have done, or am ever likely to experience again, as I am absolutely petrified of heights.

“The Willow Wood hospice provide their services free of charge to patients and their families, but it costs over £2million per year to run. I’m really chuffed I’ve been able to face my fear and help such a deserving cause.”
