Godalming Funeral Service has moved into its new permanent home to improve the service’s “already outstanding” offer to families.
The company, which opened last year, is operated by senior funeral director Paul Weightman and his son, Angus.
Since recently opening, the Godalming team has been supporting clients from the second branch in Woodbridge Hill, Guildford.
This followed a merger with James and Thomas Funeral Directors, which gave local communities two funeral homes to choose from and allowed the businesses to be more accessible and serve more families across Godalming and Guildford.
The father and son, who have a combined total of more than 50 years of industry experience, are based primarily at the funeral home in Bridge Road, Godalming, following an extensive refurbishment of the building.
The site was previously used by a chiropractor, but it functioned as a funeral home where Paul Weightman worked for many years before it closed in 1990.
Weightman said: “The building is unrecognisable compared to just a few months ago and is now a new, comfortable and welcoming environment for the families we are committed to serving.
“I’d like to thank Funeral Partners, our parent company, for the investment they have made in creating a funeral home we all are very proud of and will enable us to continue to support the bereaved communities of Godalming and Guildford with our new and modern facilities.”
He added: “We are really proud of what we have accomplished so far, both in terms of helping families who have suffered loss and through our work with the wider community. Should anyone in the Godalming area wish to find out more about what we do, they are welcome to visit us in our new Bridge Road premises.”
