Love2Donate, which creates safe and secure web pages for funeral directors to process charitable donations, has announced it has forwarded over £7m to charities.

Despite the pandemic, the enterprise has seen an increase in traffic on sites as funeral directors are having to collect donations online instead of in person.

The business revealed that the largest donation sent to a charity was on behalf of a family to a dog rescue organisation.

Chris Hankin, Love2Donate’s IT expert, said: “This is a huge sum of money and will have benefitted thousands of charities in memory of a loved one and distributed to those most in need.

“Being authorised to claim Gift Aid on behalf of nearly 1,000 of the charities registered in the UK, allows us to add the additional revenue to each donation, if the donor meets the correct criteria for us to claim on their behalf.”
