William Purves has announced the reopening of its Elgin branch following a £500,000 refit, which has also seen the home undertake a new name – W. G. Catto Funeral Directors.

The former Linkwood Funeral Home has been refurbished and has seen new technologies installed. The funeral team will be led by  Derek Johnston, Bob Proctor and John Mackay who will support bereaved families in Moray area.

The firm said the  investment in upgrading its funeral home offers “improved standards of comfort, quality, modernity and versatility”. 

The new technology also now enables the home to live stream services and make recordings for the benefit of family and friends unable to attend in person.

Tim Purves, chairman of William Purves, told The Northern Scot paper: “W.G. Catto has served the local community for over 100 years and we are proud they are a key part of the William Purves family. Our investment in brings the firm fully into our brand and with that, comes backing to ensure they are supported and empowered to deliver the best possible service to people in Elgin, Forres and the Moray area.”
