The team at Stirlingshire Crematorium has received high praise from Robert Swanson, QPM the senior inspector of burial, cremation and funeral directors of Scotland for providing a “first-class service to the local community and beyond.”

Swanson found that the crematorium’s management plan was of a high standard, incorporating a great deal more than required under the regulations.

The thorough inspection included an examination of the site and its facilities, office management and administration procedures, as well as the cremation process.

Swanson said: “The Cremation Authority is fortunate in having such an enthusiastic, dedicated and professional team at Stirlingshire Crematorium, working under the direction of experienced management. There is a noted good working relationship between all team members.”

Donnie Connor, divisional operations manager at Westerleigh Group and manager of Stirlingshire Crematorium, said: “I am proud of everyone involved in the running of Stirlingshire Crematorium, to have earned such a positive inspection report.

“This report provides an external seal of approval to the members of our local communities that they can trust us to provide the very highest levels of care and service when looking after them and their loved ones.

He added: “We take tremendous pride in supporting the bereaved, helping them to say a final farewell to their loved ones in uniquely personal ways and assisting them in memorialising those loved ones in the longer-term.”

Ed Lane, operations director for Westerleigh Group, said: “Congratulations to the whole Stirlingshire Crematorium team for earning such an excellent report from the inspector; I say ‘earning’ because I know the team works hard to provide the highest levels of service.

“Stirlingshire Crematorium marks its fifth anniversary this year, and this report from the inspector is the best gift we could have wished for.”
