Aubrey Kirkham, director of Aubrey Kirkham Funeral Directors explained: “We’re absolutely delighted with the results of this year’s awards. We care passionately about our business and do everything in our power to assist families in the area who have suffered a loss.

“We see this as a genuine and important part of our role, so to be nominated was a delight and to actually win one of just five Gold Awards presented, as well as be selected as the Overall Winner, was a truly humbling experience.”

Daniel Kawczynski, MP for Shrewsbury and Atcham added: “This is immensely deserved for the hard work and superb service that Aubrey and his staff provide not only Shrewsbury but the surrounding communities in Shropshire and Wales.

“The purpose behind the Mayor’s Awards is to recognise the unsung heroes whose achievements have benefitted the town, which I feel fits him and his team to a tee. I’d like to thank him for his commitment and dedication in building up a business that offers a service Shrewsbury can be most proud of.”
