Funeral home staff clean up in community

Staff from a funeral home in Gateacre, Merseyside, have been helping to clean up their community.

Two funeral arrangers and the funeral home manager from the Co-operative Funeralcare teamed up with the Friends of Gateacre group to tidy the village.

The funeral home donated hi-vis vests to the cause, and staff not involved with the clean-up effort were busy providing hot drinks, biscuits and lunch for their colleagues and the Friends of Gateacre as they collected litter.

Staff from the funeral home have been very active in the community since its opening in February, and recently presented elderly residents of the Amberleigh House Nursing Home with a games console.

Funeral arranger Danielle Sowerby said: “As new faces in the village it’s important for us to get to know people and we’ve really enjoyed spending time with them and helping out where we can. We hope to work closely with the good people of Gateacre for many years to come.”
