Nominations open for this year’s Good Funeral Awards

Nominations are now open for this year’s Good Funeral Awards.

2016’s Good Funeral Awards will celebrate those unsung heroes who do outstanding work for the bereaved. The awards are made in recognition of contributions to the creation of better funerals and are presented in conjunction with The Good Funeral Guide.

A small entry fee has been introduced for most categories to cover the administration involved, and there is a new requirement for a supporting statement of up to 700 words telling the participant’s story and why their entry merits an award.

You can nominate yourself or you can nominate someone else for an award. You must support your nomination by telling that person’s story in up to 700 words and saying why they should win.

The judges will read all entries and draw up a list of nominees – the Long List. If you or the person you have nominated is named on the Long List now is the time to encourage further support from colleagues, clients or bereaved families by inviting them to tell us why you deserve to win. This will help the judges to determine the best entrants in each category and to draw up a shortlist of finalists. Their final decision will be announced on the day of the Awards ceremony. Closing date for this year’s entries is July 14 2016.

The Awards will be presented on Thursday September 8 at Porchester Hall in Paddington venue. Tickets and full information on how to enter are available from The Good Funeral Awards website.
