The colleagues participated in the fundraising efforts for the charity, which supports children and young people after the death of a mum, dad, or sibling.
Teams at the Shires, Luton funeral home participated by preparing bacon and sausage sandwiches, along with an array of cereal, yoghurt and toast, as well as sweet and savoury snacks, washed down with many cups of tea, juice and fruit smoothies.
There were also numerous raffles – donated by friends and local businesses – and other fundraising activities going on as part of the initiative. Visitors ranged in age from nine months to nearly 90 years old.
Other funeral homes to have taken part include: Shires – Dunstable, Cooper & Son – Uckfield and Ballard & Shortall – Forest Row.
Charlie Field, joint managing director at CPJ Field, said: “As a company, we never fail to be surprised by the overwhelming efforts of our staff. Collectively, their efforts have helped raised a fantastic amount of money for Winston’s Wish, an amazing charity that is very close to our hearts. We would like to say a huge thank you to the local community for coming along and to all those that supported us and donated prizes; we couldn’t do it without your help.”
