Funeral Services Awards names 2023 winners

Brunel Independent Funeral Directors has won ‘Funeral Director of the Year’, while Scattering Ashes was named ‘Best Memorial Product Supplier’

The 2023 Funeral Services Awards, a category within Business Awards UK, has revealed that Brunel Independent Funeral Directors and Scattering Ashes have been named winners within their respective categories. 

Brunel Independent Funeral Directors has won ‘Funeral Director of the Year’, while Scattering Ashes was named ‘Best Memorial Product Supplier’. 

Other winners for 2023 were celebrant Mike Warren, ‘Outstanding Funeral Celebrant’; Shayne Stork Family Funeral Service, ‘Excellence in Funeral Home Services’; Helen Horne Funeral Directors, ‘Funeral Service Sustainability Award; Cromer and District Independent Funeral Services, ‘Best Independent or Family Run Funeral Director’; and Adriennes Flowers, ‘Bereavement Floristry Excellence Award’. 

Brunel Independent Funeral Directors has been distinguished for its “outstanding” leadership in funeral direction, while Shayne Stork Family Funeral Services and Helen Horne Funeral Directors have been celebrated for their excellence in service and commitment to sustainability. 

Furthermore, Scattering Ashes has provided “invaluable” support to families seeking unique memorials, while Cromer and District Independent Funeral Services has stood out for its “family-oriented” approach. 

In addition, Adriennes Flowers has been recognised for its “beautiful and thoughtful” floral arrangements, and for providing “solace in times of grief”. 

The finalists, including the “sensitive” work of Celebrant Rachel (Rachel Henderson) and the “impactful” services provided by KC Funeral Service and Armstrongs Funeral Service, have also demonstrated the highest standards of care and professionalism. 

According to the Funeral Services Awards, the recipients for 2023 have shown “an extraordinary commitment to supporting families during their time of loss, going above and beyond to provide comfort, dignity and respect to the departed and their loved ones”. 

A spokesperson for the 2023 Funeral Services Awards said: “The 2023 Funeral Services Awards are a tribute to those who perform their duties with honour, care, and a deep understanding of the importance of their work. 

“These awards aim not only to recognise such significant contributions, but also to inspire continued excellence in the funeral service industry.”
